Traditional meals typical of Central American cuisine. It's like going to visit family for a home cooked meal. Everything was authentically tasty. Food is filling with no thrills. If you're a foodie, this is not for you. If you're looking to experience authentic meals from native lands, this is a must try. All items are reasonably priced. Friendly staff and clean surroundings. On a side note, I can see much potential for this place in the future.

Over a decade one of the most popular Sw Detroit eating spots. We been customers since opening, they closed over a year for Covid. Always a fabulous Authentic Salvadoran meal. Da Pupusas are the star on the menu, over a dozen different fillings. We had a great combo the winner for me Jalapeno n Cheese rules. Had a couple Salvadoran Tamal different than the Mexican style, a Perco be Pork and Pollo be Chicken both marvelous. Had a really unique Hen Soup be a pound plus Chicken Breast, Rice, Beans, Bread and quart of Mega Veggie Soup. A perfect dish for sharing so delicious . Shout Out to Gabby our superstar waitress, her uncle owns the place. New fancy construction out front a mega patio will be open this spring. #pupuseriayrestaurantesalvadoreno #pupusas #pupusaria #hensoup #salvadorianfood #tamal #eatswdetroit #salvador @gabygeeeeee

Love this place. Everything is made to order so it takes awhile but worth it. The parking lot is recently renovated so sometimes it may look like the restaurant is closed. One star off because they also redid the menu and now there is no pricing. We got charged incorrectly for our order and would not have noticed if we did not ask for an itemized receipt.

Excellently authentic! You are transported to a small family restaurant in El Salvador, family run, mom is literally the cook in the kitchen. They were hit by Covid shut down and almost closed for good, Gabby (daughter) was our server and told us the whole story which made it all even a better experience. They had a lot of challenges, someone made a false website and was taking orders and money. Scammers eating their meal then don't want to pay, people that act like a holes about liquor drinks, on and on, yet they persevered and I am glad they did. I want to prepare you for a few things: 1. No alcohol because of a some instances of rude people who can't handle their liquor that ruined it for the rest of us. 2. This is NOT Mexican food, so don't expect chips and salsa when you sit down. This is Salvadorian food; papusas, plantains, fried jicama, etc. I mean the tamales are wrapped in plantain leaves flown in from El Salvador, that's the real deal! 3. They cook to order, everything is made from scratch, everyday, 6 days a week (closed Mondays). 4. They are short staffed and having a hard time finding good help, so be patient! 5. Try not to go on Sundays, they are slammed and do their best to service you and set expectations. If they tell you to call back in an hour, that's because they care about your order and your time. They are proud of the food and want you to be happy.

I got a bean and cheese pupusa and 2 chicken empanadas. Everything was amazing! Best pupusa AND empanadas I've had in Colorado. It was $13 for 2 chicken empanadas & the pupsa, which came with salsa and a cabbage mixture. It was the perfect sized lunch and really fantastic flavors.

Always support small businesses. This is a small business that deserves your support. It has been great to see their little spot expand over the years. However, the food quality has always been consistent and homemade. Try this if you are tired of fast food and food in general food that is played out. This is a mom and pop shop for real.

Went here for pupusas at the suggestion of a friend. She spoke Spanish which was helpful- and also not necessary. It was good to have her there so that she could shoW me the way to eat the pupusas. It is unassuming and casual but clean. It's in a building that might have been something else in another life. They have pupusas of all types. Different combinations of meat, cheese, beans, and even some veggie ones. I opted for one that had squash in it (and chicken and cheese). I also had one with pork. The slaw and salsa on top of them really add to the flavor! I saw what looked like a delicious soup being delivered so may try that when I go back! The lot is largely unpaved. Be carefull how you park.
